That's because, One) All the people you hear about are department heads, and when you're in charge of a segment of a large corporation you're typically a Vice President, and Two) Apple doesn't just throw people into a position as a filler. When you are put in charge of a division of Apple, you're there because you've done good things in the past and they expect you to be there for the long haul.

Agreed. I just spent 55k on 9.6TB of raw fibre channel storage for our 3PAR. That's 16 600GB drives if you were wondering.

apple says no, and i can confirm this on my new 2nd gen shuffle. there is a slight gap.
how big is a "slight" gap? well I guess I won't be getting one then because I don't see why I should buy an ipod that can't play back albums properly! my first gen shuffle was completely dead for the past two months until last week when the new utility brought it back, so I can't justify a new shuffle and will probably end up eventually getting one of the nanos (wish the 8GB one came in different colours including the project red version). And my first gen 10GB scroll wheel iPod is still working fine 4 1/2 years after I got it!

Address Book syncing now works!!! I'm happy. 7.0.2 definitely is a lot nicer looking. Will have to play around with it some more today.

I was browsing through the "April 2011 Desktops" forum, and I was wondering how people are customizing their backgrounds. I'm new here, so I'm still learning. For example, I've seen people with custom icons on their docks, and on their desktop, it shows the weather and time and all that. How can I get those? Thanks, and sorry for the noob question.

Also by your logic we are criminally involved in Iraq at the moment. Seeing as they were not aggressors against us, and we had no reason to invade.
The oil embargo was caused by the invasion of Japan to Indochina.
And yes, if the US invaded Iraq without any reason it would be a crime. This would be a whole new debate about if there were enough reasons to justify the Iraq war.

The last time with a link to a petition I started which got over 700 Signatures from Pro Users and Techies' : http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/applepros/ in just a few days. I got zero replies from anyone @ Apple regarding this, though I know for a fact that Apple are aware of it and quite high up the hierarchy too...

Huh? Every Vice President is a Vice President. Serlet has been much of the managerial brains, and the tech brains as well, behind Cocoa. This is my first post. It takes a lot for me to stop being a lurker, but the idea that any user can resize a textarea on a site I design, dynamically redrawing the page, is among the dumbest ideas I've ever heard. This will break valid page layouts in new and unheard of ways. Designers make form elements a size and shape for a reason.
I look forward to finding a way using JavaScript to disable that feature the day that browser is released.
Why do you need to disable something you don't want to use? Can't you just not use it?
Are you afraid you might accidentally change your mind someday and need to prevent yourself from doing this in the future?
Also, many BBS's that I use offer me the chance to change the text-reply field size in my personal preferences. The window can be any size and the page looks just fine. Pretty much ANY text entry field has to be built into a page in such a way that changing the size just pushes things below it lower, just in case a browser draws it larger than planned. I can't think of any sites that don't work that way. This box I'm using on Macrumors right now follows that rule. If I were to drag it large nothing would "break." The stuff below it would just move down.
